Class
Descriptions: Belly Dance Basics ONE This class gives you a foundation of basic moves including
isolations, foot patterns, and arm, hand, upper body movements and understanding Middle Eastern rhythms. This is the foundation
on which all Alexia's Belly Dance & Beyond classes are built. Regardless of previous belly dance experience, this class
is recommended for everybody. You can start this class at anytime. Drop ins OK, but it is best to commit to an ongoing
classes to get the full benefit of the designed program. Students are encouraged to purchase the Suhaila Salimpour Level One Study Guide as support to become familiar with the vocabulary we use in the Basics One & Two classes. Belly Dance Basics TWO/THREE (Adv Beg
- Int) This class continues
to build on a foundation of basic moves learned in Belly Dance Basics ONE including isolations, foot patterns, and arm, hand,
upper body movements and understanding Middle Eastern rhythms. Regardless of previous belly dance experience, Belly Dance
Basics ONE & TWO are recommended for everybody. Drop ins OK, but it is best to commit to an ongoing classes to get
the full benefit of the designed program. Students are encouraged to purchase the Suhaila Salimpour Level One Study Guide as support to become familiar with the vocabulary we use in the Basics One & Two classes. Tribal Belly
Dance Basics (Beg - Int) Learn the root vocabulary
of movements, steps and cues specific to American Tribal Style Belly Dance. Drop ins not available, students must pre-register
monthly. Belly Dance Basics is a great compliment class and is recommended to supplement Tribal Basics. While drop in
is OK, it is best to commit to the full series to get the most out of this class.
Belly Dance: The Next Step (Int - Adv) Step up to expanding your technique. This class focuses on drills to help you
refine what you learned in Belly Dance Basics One & Two and introduces you to more isolations and concepts in belly dance.
Belly Dance: The Next Step is a drill oriented class designed to increase strength, stamina and control of your movements.
Great complimentary class to Just Belly Dance and Choreography. Pre-requisite: 6-9 months of Alexia's Belly Dance
& Beyond Basics class. Students at this level should be very familiar with and be able to execute material in the The Suhaila Salimpour Level One Study Guide at 1/2 time and working toward full time.
Just Belly
Dance (Formerly called Belly Dance Combos) (Adv Beg & up) This class helps you put it all together with combinations to keep you moving. Technique from the
Basics class will be referenced but not broken down. Just Belly Dance offers challenges as well for dancers taking Belly Dance:
The Next Step. Just Belly Dance is a great class to combine with any other class to help you hone your skills and put
them into action. Just Belly Dance is also great if you just want to move to exciting and fun music. Some of the combos learned
in this class will be used as community jam at DDLC parties and small events. Some dance experience is helpful. Drop
in OK.
Belly Dance Choreography (Int - Adv) This class teaches a specific choreography in a specific stylization such as
Modern Egyptian, Folkloric Egyptian, Turkish Romany, Flamenco Fusion, Funk or Hip Hop Fusion, Tribal Fusion, etc. Choreography
classes are a great way to put you basics into action and be challenged with new ideas of movement and sequencing. It
is a good idea to be able to regularly attend this class rather than drop in as the choreography builds from week to week.
Start dates of new choreographies will be posted. New choreography start dates: March 6 Pre-requisite: 9 months or more
of DDLC or Alexia's Belly Dance & Beyond classes. It is required that students at this level understand and be able
to execute all material in The Suhaila Salimpour Level One Study Guide.
Zumba! World Dance Workout (Open Level) Get your groove on! This is a fun way to move, sweat and have a good time! Forget the workout, join
the party! (45 minute Express Zumba class) Drop in OK.
Flamenco ~ Learn these exciting dances that are popular in Flamenco and also in the night clubs of Spain. Great fun for partners,
great fun for soloists. This is also a very good class for belly dancers wishing to incorporate Arab/Spanish stylings
into their dance. Castanet technique will be introduced. Drop in OK, but committing to ongoing classes will help
you to get the most out of the class. No street or Flamenco shoes allowed. Please bring a soft soled dance shoe.This
is an on going class Specialty Classes

classes complement your regular weekly class schedule and will be offered periodically. When offered as a one-hour class,
monthly passes and drop in are available. When offered as a multi-hour workshop, additional rates apply.

Which classes are best for me? Blue Classes Great
for beginners and anyone for brushing up, learning or refining Alexia" Belly Dance & Beyond specific technique.
Purple Classes Great for all levels.
Red Classes Great for performance program students and those who have
been dancing consistently at Alexia's Belly Dance & Beyond or DDLC for 9 months or more.
Class schedule is designed to make it easy to take a few classes in one day/night. Check schedule,
class options will change from time to time.
Performance Program Alexia's Belly Dance & Beyond provides performance opportunities for students. To be considered
for performance opportunities, students must be enrolled in the Performance Program. To be eligible to sign up for the Performance
Program, students must have already completed 6 months of continual study in Belly Dance Basics and Just Belly Dance Classes
at Alexia's Belly Dance & Beyond or DDLC. The Performance Program requires a 4-month commitment to Belly Dance The Next
Step - Technique and Choreography classes. Dates will be listed here for performance program series and rehearsal commitment
dates. Talk to your teacher if you are interested in the program.
